Virtue Oboro is a Visual Artist and a Social Entrepreneur from Nigeria.

She founded Tiny Hearts Technology, an organization focused on raising awareness and educating Nigerian women about neonatal jaundice at the same time producing and deploying cost effective solar powered Phototherapy Units for the treatment of neonatal jaundice.

Virtue was inspired to birth the organisation after her son was diagnosed with severe neonatal jaundice in 2016. Her experience during his treatment recovery, triggered an idea to redesign a device that effectively treats jaundice in new-born babies across Africa. This led to the invention of the Crib A’glow photo-therapy unit, which is used for treatment of jaundice in newborns.

The innovation as at 2020 has saved over 10,000 babies in Nigeria and Ghana. She has launched other newborn related innovations that are already going through regulatory approval.

The Johnson & Johnson African Innovation Challenge Winner and Mandela Washington Fellow comes from a corporate branding background also engages small businesses on finding grant opportunities and leveraging on them to scale up their businesses to remain sustainable.
